Kit M Curtis

Administrative Assistant, ORNL Isotope Program

Kit Curtis was born and raised in New England.  After high school and a year of college, she jumped into the administrative world, in various positions such as file manager, office assistant, receptionist, and document control manager, before moving cross-country to New Mexico to work as a board operator and voice talent in radio for a small media company.  Due to a management change, she moved briefly to Florida before settling in East Tennessee in 2006.  Her journey here at Oak Ridge National Laboratory began in 2007 as a contractor working in multiple admin positions, including in the User Office of the Spallation Neutron Source, the High Flux Isotope Reactor, and in document control.   She left at the very end of 2008 to take a senior administrative assistant position with United Healthcare for five years.  In the spring of 2014, she returned as a contractor in the Department of Energy Site Office until July of 2015, where she accepted a staff position in the Chemical Sciences Division as the Division PAS Coordinator and the Administrative Assistant for the Chemical Separations Group.  After the Reimagine ORNL reorganization in December of 2020, Kit was reassigned to the Isotope Science and Engineering Directorate, where she supports Kevin Hart, Alan Tatum, and Tom Kollie in the ORNL Isotope Program.
