Bio
Michele Baker heads the Safety, Engineering and Support Section for the Nonreactor Nuclear Facilities Division in the Isotope Science and Engineering Directorate, a position she's held since 2021. Baker oversees the Technical Support Services and Design Engineering groups as well as matrixed Environment, Safety & Health personnel.
Baker joined ORNL in 2009, serving first as a technical planning basis coordinator in Emergency Management, then serving as Emergency Management Team Leader from 2011 until her current position.
She received the Excellence in Emergency Management award from the Emergency Management Issues Special Interest Group (EMI SIG) in both 2015 and 2017.
Baker holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Rochester.
