Bio
Vandy Tombs is an Applied Mathematician in the GeoAI group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Her research interests include private machine learning, utilizing differentiable programming to improve existing scientific algorithms, applying sensitivity analysis to understand and improve models, and various other machine learning and data science applications. She recently led an effort to extend private machine learning techniques to models trained on limited data. She received her MS in Mathematics from Brigham Young University, Provo, UT.
